Shadowrocket Download
and Authenticity Check
Shadowrocket is a paid client for Apple platforms, available exclusively on the App Store. Check the storefront region and app identity first, then confirm the price and compatibility. Purchase eligibility is determined by the App Store listing.
This page is part of the official Shadowrocket manual and covers pre-purchase checks, device installation, and purchase restoration. You should already have your own subscription or server details; the app purchase and connection service are managed separately.
Storefront and Account Region
This app is not available in the mainland China storefront. Before searching, distinguish your device’s physical location, system language, and account storefront region. The country or region associated with the Apple ID used for media purchases determines which apps the App Store displays. Changing your device language to English does not switch storefronts or change your existing purchase history. If the app appears unavailable, check your region rather than choosing another app with a similar name.
To check your region, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Country/Region. Depending on your system version, you may need to open Media & Purchases, view your account, and authenticate. Check the current region and make sure the account used for App Store purchases is the one you expect; it may differ from the account used for other system services.
If you need to change your region, use the Country/Region settings above and review Apple’s instructions. Before proceeding, read the notices about account balance, active subscriptions, payment methods, and Family Sharing, and resolve anything that applies to your account. Eligibility depends on your account status and Apple’s requirements. A successful change is not guaranteed, and repeatedly switching regions to change search results is not recommended.
The button on this page links to the specified App Store product page. The browser or App Store may ask you to confirm the storefront. Being able to view the product page does not necessarily mean your account can buy the app. Payment, download, and future restoration depend on the prompts shown in the signed-in storefront. Check the account first, then the product, and finally the payment details to distinguish region issues from app identity issues.
Verify the App: Check These Three Details
Search results for Shadowrocket may include apps with similar names or icons. A matching name is not enough, and a similar-looking icon does not replace checking the developer. Verify all three details on the same product page before buying. Search snippets and descriptions on other pages are not a substitute for the App Store listing.
- Developer: Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Open the product page and find the developer or provider information. Check the full name exactly. Don’t rely on a truncated line in the search results or skip this check because an app has a similar name.
- Official icon: a rocket outlined in blue and purple on a white background. Compare the product page icon with the official icon in this site’s header, checking the background and main outline. The icon is only one of the three checks and cannot prove an app’s identity by itself.
- App ID: 932747118. The App Store link on this page includes
id932747118. Check this number in the product page URL or the link shared from the App Store, rather than relying only on the app name in the URL.
All three details should match on the same product page. If the name matches but the developer does not, or the icon looks similar but the app ID differs, stop the purchase and reopen the intended product using this page’s App Store button. Search ranking, description length, and the number of screenshots are not identity checks.
After checking all three details, review the App Store listing’s compatibility, purchase information, and update history. Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app; this manual uses the App Store listing and the app’s on-screen wording as its reference. If the listing changes, follow it for system requirements, current pricing, and purchase eligibility rather than relying on figures in older guides.

Buying and Opening Shadowrocket on iPhone
On your iPhone, open the App Store using the button on this page. Check all three app details, then review device compatibility. Refer to the listing for system requirements. If the App Store says your device is incompatible, check the device’s system version against the listing instead of relying on the app name or outdated information. Confirm the price, authenticate through the system purchase prompt, and wait for the App Store to show download progress.
If the app does not appear after purchase, stay in the App Store and check the download progress and any error messages. Then check your network connection, available storage, and account status. If payment has gone through, confirm the transaction in your purchase history instead of repeatedly tapping the price button. A successful payment, a completed download, and a working connection are separate stages and should be checked individually.
VPN Configuration Permission on First Connection
Before opening Shadowrocket, have your own subscription or server details ready. When the app first establishes a connection, the system may ask to add a VPN configuration. This is a system permission for managing the device’s network connection, not a request to buy the app again. Once you confirm the prompt was triggered by your current action, follow the system instructions and authenticate on your device. If you have installed the app but have not started a connection, not seeing this prompt is not necessarily a problem.
After granting permission, return to the app and check the selected server and connection switch. Permission allows the system to establish the connection; it does not verify server details or guarantee that requests will succeed. If the connection fails, check the address, port, password, and protocol fields in your existing configuration, then troubleshoot based on the actual error. Keep purchase account issues separate from connection configuration issues.
For your first setup, continue with Getting Started. Follow the steps to add details you already have, select Global Routing, turn on the connection, and test a request. Interface labels such as Home, Add Server, and Config remain in English throughout this manual for easy reference. You don’t need to change every setting after purchase: first verify a basic connection, then adjust rules as needed.

Installing on iPad and Other Apple Devices
Shadowrocket works on both iPhone and iPad. After one purchase with the same Apple ID, you can install it from your purchase history on compatible devices. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements and purchase eligibility. Before you start, check the account under Media & Purchases on your iPad; the system account shown at the top of Settings may be different.
On your iPad, open your App Store account and Purchased items. Find Shadowrocket, confirm the product details, and use the redownload option. If a price still appears, check that you’re signed in to the original purchasing account, that the purchase is in your history, and that the product is available in your current storefront. Don’t pay again until you’ve confirmed which account owns the purchase.
The iPad layout may vary with screen size, orientation, and how the app is displayed. Lists and content may not appear in the same places as on iPhone. Follow the actual interface labels, such as Home, Config, and Settings, rather than relying on whether a button appears on the left or right. Check configuration imports and first-connection permissions on the current device as well.
Check the App Purchase and Device Configuration Separately
A purchase in your history lets you install the app, but it does not mean that your iPhone’s servers, rule files, and switch settings have all appeared on your iPad. After installation, check the current lists to see what has been restored. Import your own subscription or server details if anything is missing. Before replacing an old configuration, identify what it is for so you don’t delete rules you still need.
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing also includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. To use Shadowrocket on one of these devices, check availability in its App Store. Refer to the listing for universal purchase availability, system requirements, and purchase eligibility. The step-by-step instructions here focus on iPhone and iPad; interface locations may differ on other devices.
New Device or Reinstall: Restore the App, Then Your Configuration
After switching devices or reinstalling the app, use the Apple ID from the original purchase to find the app in your purchase history. The usual path is App Store → Account → Purchased → Shadowrocket. Menu names may vary slightly by system version; look for your purchase or app history on the account page. Redownload the original purchase; you usually won’t need to pay again.
If the app is missing from your purchase history, first check whether the account under Media & Purchases is the one used for the original purchase. Then check your purchase history, storefront region, and hidden purchases. Signing in to your system account during device setup does not guarantee that the same account is being used for media purchases. Don’t assume that “can’t find it” means you need to buy it again before checking your records.
- Restore the app. Install it from the original purchasing account’s purchase history, then open it and check that Home loads normally.
- Check existing data. Review the server list and Config to see what was restored or synced to the device, then decide what needs to be added.
- Restore your connection details. If you’re missing a subscription, get it from your service provider. For server details you already have, check the fields for the relevant protocol before adding them.
- Test the connection again. Check the selected server, Global Routing, and system permissions, then connect and test whether requests work as expected.
Reinstalling the app does not automatically restore all connection details, and you should not assume every configuration field can be recovered from your App Store purchase history. Purchase history confirms your right to use the app; server details and configuration files are separate data. Before migrating, check that the required information is available on the old device and keep a copy of any configuration you need. Avoid putting credentials in public notes or shareable links.
If you use a device backup or an app-provided sync feature, check each setting after restoring. A server appearing in the list does not mean its authentication details are still valid, and a rule file being present does not mean it is selected. First connect using a known-good configuration, then review other rules and On Demand settings. This makes it easier to pinpoint where a problem occurs.
For Family Sharing, check the product page’s purchase information and the current family group requirements. Eligibility is determined by the App Store listing. Don’t confuse restoring your own purchase with a family member’s purchase access. If you see a payment or account prompt during restoration, read it first and then check your purchase history to avoid confirming a transaction twice.
Price and One-Time Purchase
The US reference price for Shadowrocket is $2.99, a one-time purchase. Other storefronts show local currency; the amount charged is the one shown on the App Store confirmation screen. “One-time” refers to buying the client—there is no monthly client usage fee. Prices vary by storefront, so don’t treat one region’s listed price as universal or use another region’s price in place of the current checkout amount.
So if the server list is empty after payment, you still need to import your own details; this does not mean the app purchase failed. Adding an existing subscription, entering server details manually, and importing a rule file serve different purposes: a subscription manages connection details you already have, rule files determine how requests match policies, and the App Store transaction covers the app purchase only.
App updates are handled through the App Store. You can enable automatic updates in your device settings or check the updates list in your App Store account. Before updating, keep a record of any important custom rules. After the update, check Config and your connection status. For version history, see the App Store listing; this page does not use a specific version number or date as a basis for purchase.
Before confirming payment, check the developer name, app ID, account region, and current price once more. If you’ve already bought the app but still see a price, return to the purchase restoration steps and check the account instead of paying again to troubleshoot. Once you’ve confirmed the purchase account, continue with installation or restoration for your device. This keeps payment, account, and configuration issues separate.
Purchase and Installation FAQ
These questions cover getting the app from the App Store. If the app is installed but the connection fails, visit the FAQ and check your existing configuration against the error message.
Why can’t I find Shadowrocket in the App Store?
This app is not available in the mainland China storefront. App Store content depends on the country or region associated with your Apple ID. Check your account region under Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Country/Region, then open the product page to check availability. Changing your device language does not change your account’s storefront region.
The product page opens, but the download won’t complete. What should I check first?
Note the exact App Store message, then check your account sign-in, payment details, available device storage, network connection, and system compatibility. If you’ve already been charged, check your purchase history before trying to pay again. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements.
Do I have to pay again after getting a new iPhone or reinstalling the app?
On the Apple ID used for the original purchase, find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased and download it again. You usually won’t need to pay again. Restoring the app and restoring connection settings are separate steps; you’ll also need to import your own subscription or server details on the new device.
Can I install it on my iPad after buying it on my iPhone?
Yes. One purchase with the same Apple ID lets you install it from your purchase history on compatible iPhone and iPad devices. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements and purchase eligibility. After installation, check the connection settings and system permissions on the device.
Can I install it on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check availability in the App Store on your target device. Refer to the listing for system requirements and whether the purchase is universal.
The app opens in English. Where should I start?
Use the English interface labels in this manual: Home shows connections and servers, Add Server adds details you already have, Config is for configuration files, and Settings contains app settings. Have your own subscription or server details ready, then read Getting Started. The interface language does not affect authenticity checks.
